Language technology map

The LT-LiDER Language Technology Map was developed using insights from expert interviews with specialists from the language services industry, as well as researchers. It is structured around the translation process description in the ISO 17100 standard and the Tradumàtica digitized translation process model (Sánchez-Gijón, P. & Palenzuela-Badiola, 2023). To these, we assign skills needed to deal with technology-driven tasks, as identified by specialists during our interviews. The skills included are not arranged in any particular order, some are specific and others broad. Only the technical skills reported during our interviews are listed, and therefore we do not claim our map to be comprehensive. The focus of the map is on technical skills and we would like to stress that language specialists also need to master language and culture, as well as translation skills.
